Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 p.a (including London weighting) depending on experience
Role details & benefits: This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (PAYE) with a standard 40-hour work week and a 6-month probationary period. The salary for this role is £38,000 - £42,000 p.a. (including London weighting), depending on experience. In addition to a competitive pension and 28 days of annual leave, you'll receive statutory sick pay and access to special cinema events.
Location: Hybrid (remote and office) working, minimum of 2 days in the London office. You do not need to reside in London to apply, though you do need to live and have right to work in the UK. Occasional UK travel and out-of-hours work on evenings and weekends.

We Are Parable is looking for a full-time Marketing & Outreach Manager to lead strategic communications, outreach, and audience development across our various organisational pillars.
This significant role will be responsible for shaping and executing marketing strategies that amplify the We Are Parable brand, deepen engagement with our audiences, and support the growth of our core initiatives—including film distribution, projects that focus on supporting filmmakers, cultural programming, film exhibition and international expansion.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creative vision and data-driven insight, with a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of creating culturally relevant and unique experiences around Black Cinema.

We Are Parable is a multi-award-winning film exhibition and distribution company dedicated to providing culturally relevant, unique, and memorable experiences that celebrate Black Cinema. Since 2013 we’ve created events, screenings, and campaigns that connect deeply with audiences across the UK and beyond.
Our mission is to amplify the voices of Black storytellers and build meaningful connections between films, filmmakers, and communities. Through initiatives like Momentum and The Shot List, we support the next generation of Black British talent while expanding the reach of Black-led stories on a global scale.

Role
As Marketing & Outreach Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and executing the overall marketing and outreach strategy for We Are Parable—ensuring that every facet of our work is communicated with clarity, creativity, and cultural authenticity.
Reporting to the senior leadership team and working closely with key collaborators across the organisation, you will lead on the development and delivery of our campaigns that reflect the full spectrum of our activity—from film distribution and cultural programming to talent development and international expansion.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead local, regional and future international marketing and outreach strategies for We Are Parable
Create a compelling and impactful marketing campaign for an upcoming theatrical release
Ensure the visual identity, brand messaging and tone of voice of We Are Parable remains consistent, resonant, and adaptable across marketing materials, communications and platforms
Create and manage compelling content across social media, digital platforms (including email marketing and social media), and press channels to connect with underrepresented and Black audiences.
Identify emerging trends in marketing, culture, and technology to inform innovative campaigns, keeping We Are Parable at the forefront of audience engagement.
Collaborate with various company stakeholders to design and implement tailored audience development plans that successfully engage communities
Overseeing the co-ordination and delivery of marketing outreach campaigns
Develop KPIs and benchmarks for success across campaigns, using data, audience feedback and/or media coverage to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with media partners, influencers, brands and/or aligned organisations to amplify the reach and impact of We Are Parable’s work.
Working with the wider We Are Parable team (content creators and cultural curators) to produce marketing communications that are consistently on brand
Skills/Experience
A minimum of four years’ proven experience in cultural/arts marketing and audience development/engagement, particularly with underrepresented communities.
Experience of working in the UK film and TV industry would be desirable
A strategic thinker with creative flair, capable of designing and executing campaigns that are both data-informed and emotionally resonant.
Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
An analytical mindset, with experience using tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, or CRM platforms, Canva, Mailchimp and Typeform to track performance and optimise campaigns.
Visual literacy and creative direction experience—you must be comfortable briefing designers, videographers, or content creators to ensure brand consistency and quality.
A deep understanding of the cultural relevance of Black Cinema and community-based storytelling.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously to find and solve problems
Experience with grassroots and digital marketing campaigns.
Confident working independently and collaboratively, with a proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
A network of media or cultural contacts would be desirable.
