Meet the Momentum 2026/27 Cohort
After a record number of applications, we are delighted to welcome the Momentum 2026/27 cohort, a vibrant group of 30 Black filmmakers and content creators from across the UK
Momentum Cohort 2026/27
47% are based in London, with the majority living and working across the rest of the country, and 53% are women. Between them they span the full range of screen talent, from writers, directors to producers and content creators, with many working across more than one discipline. They are now in full swing attending masterclasses, roundtable industry meetings and wellbeing sessions, and are meeting with their mentors.
Now in its fourth year, the programme has supported 140 Black British-based creatives. Momentum 2026/27 runs May 2026 to February 2027, supporting a new cohort of 30 participants from across the UK.
Momentum is a free, nine-month professional development programme supported by Channel 4 and Sony Pictures Television.
