A moving and intimate story following the journey of a pregnant single mother with two children in foster care who embraces her Bay Area community as she fights to reclaim her family.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Savanah Leaf, EARTH MAMA explores the experience of black single mothers fighting the foster care system and a society that expects them to fail and strips them of their agency.
In 2023, Savanah won the best debut filmmaker BIFA award and BFI x Chanel Filmmakers award for EARTH MAMA.
In February 2024, EARTH MAMA won the BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
The UK release of EARTH MAMA in December 2023 represents We Are Parable's debut release as a film distributor.
