For the last decade, We Are Parable have been dedicated to creating opportunities for audiences around the world to experience and respond to Black cinema and television in culturally relevant, unique and memorable ways.

Founded by Teanne and Anthony Andrews, We Are Parable have constantly focused on one philosophy: Experience Over Everything. The experience of the audience has remained paramount to everything they do, from film screenings, to full scale cinematic experiences.

They have worked extensively with some of the biggest studios and streamers in the industry from Netflix, Warner Brothers, Universal and Sony, in addition to partnerships with national broadcasters such as Channel 4, ITV and BBC.

Helping filmmakers move their careers forward.

In 2020, We Are Parable launched Momentum, a programme designed to support Black filmmakers and content creators based in Britain by providing them with mentoring, mental health workshops and access to industry professionals. Returning in late 2023, Momentum is now supported by Channel 4, Channel 4 Skills and Sony Pictures Television.

We Are Parable have also participated in a number of international projects (in collaboration with the British Council) in Jamaica, Kenya and Colombia, which primarily focus on screening work from Black Filmmakers based in the UK in these countries alongside their international counterparts as part of a wider cultural exchange.

In 2023, We Are Parable announced their intention to move into theatrical distribution, and have since released two films, the BAFTA winning EARTH MAMA, written and directed by Savanah Leaf, and BANEL & ADAMA, which played in competition for the Palme d’Or at Cannes and was written and directed by Ramata-Toulaye Sy.

In recognition of their commitment to creating a platform for Black Cinema, We Are Parable were awarded the Special Jury Prize at the 2023 British Independent Film Awards.
